How Does Testuff Integrate with JIRA Service Management?

Testuff, a hosted service, seamlessly integrates with your JIRA Service Management account by automatically sending every reported defect. This allows you to manage your manual tests with Testuff while continuing to utilize JIRA Service Management for efficient bug tracking.

How Do I Configure JIRA Service Management with Testuff?

  1. In Testuff, navigate to Settings > Bug Tracker and click the Add Bug Tracker link.
  2. Select JIRA Service Management from the bug trackers dropdown menu.
  3. Enter your JIRA Service Management server address in the URL field. Ensure that you omit any file names that appear after the last slash.
  4. Specify the Default Project. Defects exported from Testuff projects without a custom JIRA Service Management project will use this default project name.
  5. Define the Default Request Type.
  6. Test the integration by clicking on Test Connection. If credentials are not already saved, you will be prompted to enter your username and password.
  7. (Optional) Click the Submit a Sample Defect Report link to verify that Testuff can successfully create bug reports in JIRA Service Management. A new bug report should appear if the test is successful.
  8. Click Save to apply and save your new settings.

Note: JIRA Service Management Cloud requires an API Token instead of a password. Follow these steps to generate a token:

  • Log in to your Atlassian account at Atlassian API Tokens.
  • Click Create API Token.
  • Provide a memorable and concise label for your token and click Create.
  • Click Copy to Clipboard, then paste the token into Testuff as the password.

Setting Up Automatic 2-Way Integration

Testuff offers a unique feature that allows automatic updates of your reported defects in Testuff based on any changes made in JIRA Service Management. Follow these steps to set up the 2-way integration:

  1. In JIRA Service Management, navigate to Settings > System > Webhooks.
  2. Create a new Webhook using the URL provided in Testuff by going to Settings > Bug Trackers > JIRA Service Management and copying the “Automatic 2-Way Integration URL”.
  3. Ensure that all Issue events (created, updated, and deleted) are selected.
  4. Save the Webhook. You’re now set to report defects from Testuff to your JIRA Service Management account and receive automatic updates.

Note: Only existing defects in Testuff will be updated when changes occur in JIRA Service Management.

Adding the Project Field to the Bug Reporter

  1. Navigate to Settings > Bug Tracker in Testuff.
  2. Add the Project field to the Bug Reporter form.
