Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays an increasingly important role in modern test management. In Testuff, AI is designed to reduce manual effort, improve test quality, and help teams work smarter. Our AI journey began with intelligent insights, continued with AI-powered test generation from requirements, and now expands to generating tests directly from reported defects.
We will continue enhancing AI capabilities to support the full testing lifecycle.
All AI capabilities in Testuff are optional and fully controlled by your organization (see AI Settings below).
AI Features Overview
1. AI Insights
AI Insights analyzes your test repository and execution data to provide meaningful recommendations and visibility into risk and quality trends.
- Identifies patterns and potential coverage gaps
- Highlights outdated or low-value tests
- Helps prioritize maintenance and optimization efforts
Where to find it:
Navigate to AI Insights to access the AI Insights dashboard.
2. AI Test Generation from Requirements
AI can generate draft test cases directly from requirement descriptions, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Generates structured test steps
- Suggests expected results
- Provides data and edge-case hints
This feature accelerates test creation while maintaining consistency and coverage.
How to use:
- In the Requirements screen open a requirement’s menu
- Select Generate AI Test from the menu
- Review, edit, and save the generated draft tests
3. AI Test Generation from Reported Defects
This capability allows you to generate draft test cases directly from defects reported in your project.
- Analyzes defect descriptions, reproduction steps, notes, and attachments
- Generates suggested test steps and expected results
- Provides relevant data hints
- Automatically links generated tests to the originating defect for traceability
This helps teams quickly convert real production issues into reusable, structured test cases.
How to use:
- Go to the Defects screen
- Select one or more defects
- Open the menu and select ‘Assign to validate’
- Mark the Suggest steps with AI help checkbox
- Review and refine the generated draft tests (located in the selected suite)
AI Settings and Control
Your AI, Your Control
AI brings powerful advantages, along with important considerations around data privacy and control. At Testuff, we take both seriously.
All AI capabilities are fully optional. Organizations that prefer not to use AI, for any reason, can easily disable it in the system settings. We give you the control whether to allow AI features, and we remain committed to protecting your data and maintaining full transparency.
AI Usage and Security
To ensure transparency, we note the following regarding Testuff’s use of AI:
- User-initiated only: AI functionality is applied solely when a user explicitly requests test case generation from a requirement description.
- No automatic processing: Your data is never automatically processed by AI, other than anonymized account dashboard metrics.
- No data sharing: Testuff does not share, sell, or expose your company data to any third parties for AI or for any other reason.
- AI Model Training: Your company’s data is never used to train AI models. We may use aggregated, anonymized usage patterns internally to improve Testuff’s services, but no identifiable or customer-specific data is ever included.
Best Practices
- Always review AI-generated tests
- Use AI as an accelerator but not as a replacement. Professional QA judgment is crucial
- Leverage defect-based test generation to prevent regressions from recurring issues
- Regularly review AI Insights to keep your test suite efficient and relevant
We will continue expanding AI-driven capabilities to help you test smarter and deliver higher-quality software.
