A significant part of the testing process is Defect validation. Closing the testing-Cycle, by sending a validation request for the defect found during testing, and that was reported now as fixed. This validation step is relevant whether you are using the Testuff defect module or an external bug tracker.
The defects, that have been fixed, and are included in your upcoming version, need to be validated. This can be done in one of two ways:
- Rerun the same test, in which the defect was found
- Creating a dedicated test run to validate the defect fix, using Send to validation feature, enabled on defects
In our new monthly version, we have improved the validation process by adding an option to set the estimated time on the created test run. Adding the estimated time allows more accurate tracking of the total testing time and better allocation of resources to the testing process. It is also a part of the Testuff Time Management process, which is a powerful tool, which allows managing your testing estimated time, actual testing time, comparison between the two, and much more.
